BE MINDFUL, BE PRESENT. LISTEN TO THE RAIN
In California we have experienced years of drought. The dry weather contributes to wildfires in the summer, and the smoky air can be observed miles away. When the rain comes, we tend to be frustrated as it can increase the length of our commute.
Rain in California can be rare, so enjoy it. Listen to the raindrops as they fall on the ground or on the roof above you. Listen to how they fall one at a time or hundreds at a time. Listen to how heavy or light the rain is at the current moment. Take a breath in, and exhale your stress out of your body. Close your eyes, listen to the raindrops fall, and take a few deep breaths. This should allow you to take just a moment of mindfulness, and from there a moment of calm and reflection.
